چکیده

This work aimed to characterize beverage wastewater generated in the industry and assess treatment plant performance by fungi (Penicillium sp.) feasibility of reuse. Freshly discharged was collected analyzed for physicochemical parameters such as Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical (COD), Total Dissolved Solid (TDS), Nitrate, Phosphate, Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, Copper, Zinc standard methods. At a 7-day interval, 190ml sterilized local dye inoculated with Penicillium sp. two weeks, were determined. The results observed raw, bio-treated removal efficiency showed: BOD (280 mg-1, 255 mg-1 , 108 19.64 %, 61.43 %); COD (540 420 285 43.75%, 88.13%); Nitrate (130 90 25 30.77%, 80.77%); Phosphate (48 5 30.91%, 78.18%); Calcium (55 38 12 Iron (29 18 07 37.93 75.86 Copper (0.09 0.07 0.02 22.22 77.78 (0.08, 0.06, 0.03 22.5%). Fungi demonstrated ability remove pollutants other wastes from wastewater. These indicate that some companies employing methods their effluents do not heavy metals.

Leaching of heavy metal from native plants by chemical leachants

Plant biomass harvested after heavy-metal phytoremediation must be considered as a hazardous waste that should be contained or treated appropriately before disposal or reuse. This study provides an evaluation of extractants for the removal of lead from Abutilon Theophrastus biomass. The research was carried out a leaching study to determine the lead-extraction efficiency of the different leacha...

Atpenins, new antifungal antibiotics produced by Penicillium sp. Production, isolation, physico-chemical and biological properties.

Penicillium sp. FO-125, a soil isolate, was found to produce a new antifungal antibiotic complex named atpenin. Three components A4, A5 and B were isolated from the fermentation broth of the producing strain by solvent extraction, silica gel column chromatography and HPLC. The molecular formula of atpenins A4, A5 and B were determined to be C15H22NO5Cl, C15H21NO5Cl2 and C15H23NO5, respectively,...

Heavy Metal Contaminants Removal from Wastewater Using the Potential Filamentous Fungi Biomass: A Review

The soil and water contaminations are frequently occurred by toxic heavy metals and organic pollutants as a consequence of human activities become a key concern in environmental and health problem. Several toxic metals (Cd, Cu, Hg, Pb, Mn, As, Ni, Zn, etc.) from industrial wastewater and other human activities are directly or indirectly released into the environment. Unlike organic contaminants...
